A polished 10-inch brass gong hangs from sweeping arcs of ash wood, and produces a deep-throated harmonic ringing as it is rung by the round, rubber-edged striker. Secured with black nylon strands, the Emperor Gong is weather-resistant, measures 34-1/2 by 13 inches, and, in addition to providing calming wind-music, is useful for signaling the start of dinner or meditation.
